Collars
When I first started sewing my own clothes, I think I was about 13 or 14 years old and I avoided collars, boy! Did I avoid collars. My Mum would say, “patience and one step at a time”.
Well it happened, I wanted a particular pattern and it had a ‘collar’, not just an easy collar, the full two piece, interfaced shirt collar with nice points, sharp, crisp and topstitched.
So I mustered up all my patience, the pattern instruction sheet (wonderful things, those instruction sheets) and took it step by step and what do you know? It worked!!! And… I only had to unpick and redo one section. My shirt collar looked amazing, as good or maybe better, than a store bought one.
So now I’m going to give you the different styles of collars and the basics for preparing them to insert in your garment. [ Members Only Content - please sign up to view it... ]
